Ambassadors
Meet the ambassadors of BredaPhoto Festival 2026
As BredaPhoto Ambassadors, Olivia, Dominique, Iria and Sofie will be attending the festival at different times over the course of six weeks. They’ll explore exhibitions, attend events and talk to artists and other visitors. Drawing on their own interests and experiences, they’ll share what catches their attention, inspires them and stays with them.
Olivia
BredaPhoto Ambassador
Olivia Tudor is a Dutch visual artist with Romanian and Italian roots. Raised in the eastern region of the Netherlands (Twente), her bicultural background forms a central point of departure within her artistic practice. Working primarily with small scala analogue photography and colour film, she explores themes of anthropology, identity, migration and cultural memory through intimate and research-driven visual narratives.
“Who gets to shape the conversation, who gets a platform, and who remains unheard? For me, freedom begins with making space for different perspectives. Art should not fall silent behind museum walls — in public space, photography can make stories visible, open up conversations, and reach people who do not always see themselves represented within those institutions.”
Iria
BredaPhoto Ambassador
Iria Cholakova is an international student from Bulgaria with a passion for storytelling, art and creative expression. As a student at Breda University of Applied Sciences, she is always looking for new ways to understand and share the world around her. As a BredaPhoto Ambassador, she enjoys talking about the emotions, thoughts and conversations that art can spark.

“Art is a reflection of our reality. It is a direct effect of the world it is created in, and each piece tells a story. This year’s topic initially intrigued me as it spoke of a collection rooted in humanity, emotional nakedness and true authenticity. And I can say that the result definitely did not disappoint.”
Dominique
BredaPhoto Ambassador
Dominique Loukena is a young professional and final-year Leisure & Event Management student. She combines her interest in culture and events with a strong passion for photography. As a BredaPhoto Ambassador, she explores the festival with a curious eye, sharing her personal impressions and discoveries along the way.

Dominique chose three exhibitions that moved her in different ways. From an intimate and emotional tribute to stories about mental health and coming to terms with trauma, her selection shows how photography can create space for stories that are sometimes difficult to put into words.
Sofie
BredaPhoto Ambassador
Sofie de Jong is an artist, educator and community organiser. Her work focuses on archiving, curation and (re)contextualisation. She is also a co-founder of the ENGAGE foundation. As a BredaPhoto Ambassador, Sofie writes about her experiences at the festival and shares her thoughts on the photography, stories and perspectives she encounters.

“When I look at art, I’m always drawn to work that speaks to me. Work that tells a story, draws you in and gets something moving.
There is so much to see at the festival. These three projects stood out to me. They’re not only beautiful to look at, but also beautiful in what they do. They make stories visible, bring people together and show what can come from meeting and connecting with others.”
