From September 13th to November 3rd, 2024, BredaPhoto will transform the city of Breda into a grand stage for photography and video. For more than seven weeks, international top photographers will showcase their work side by side with young talents, presenting their vision on the theme “Journeys.” The journey serves as a metaphor for the developments everyone experiences in life, sometimes turning everything upside down. This theme resonates well with the world of youngsters, who are also undergoing their own unique journey of development.

Starting from the theme Theatre of Dreams, BredaPhoto offers a project in which young people from different parts of the world enter into a creative connection with each other. No matter how different our worlds are, we all dream! They will work on a diptych which can be made of a photo, a painting, a drawing, a poem, a piece of music or a spoken word. The best diptychs will be exhibited at the festival.
For teachers of secondary schools in Breda, we offer instruction videos by two top photographers, Annegien van Doorn and Alexey Shlyk. These photographers have challenging assignments for the pupils.
To admire Annegien and Alexey’s photos in real life, we offer interactive guided tours to students and teachers during the festival.
