Artist Talk met Awoiska van der Molen

Awoiska van der Molen’s monochrome landscape photographs emerge from a desire to penetrate deep into the essence of an isolated natural world. For The Living Mountain — on view at BredaPhoto Festival location Carré Chassé — she collaborated with composer Thomas Larcher to convey the experience of Larcher’s homeland, the mountains of Tyrol, Austria, through a composition of music and images.

On Thursday 8 October, curator Astrid Hulsmann will speak with Awoiska van der Molen about The Living Mountain, as well as her photography practice more broadly. How did she develop her distinctive style? What is her approach to analogue photography? And what is she working on now? There will also be an opportunity for questions from the audience.
