Nele Bogaerts Freedom Regained
Surrender yourself to this visual and sensory spectacle... Inspired by the personal experiences of an Ayahuasca ceremony, in Freedom Regained Bogaerts visually explores the inner journey to a more mentally balanced life. During the corona period, she was alone and thrown back on her own thoughts. Bogaerts noticed that society, now that the restrictions have been lifted, is falling back into old patterns of speed, haste, ambition and the urge to prove itself. Freedom Regained draws our attention to the importance of mental well-being and being self-aware and assertive in living our lives. The work was created through Bogaerts intensive collaboration with 3D designer Nikol Mlinova and multidisciplinary artist Hans Temmerman.
Nele Bogaerts (Brussels, 1998) graduated in 2020 as a graphic designer at the Arteveldehogeschool. In 2022 she graduated as a photographer from the Luca School of Arts. As a multidisciplinary artist, she uses photography and graphic design as language to express her visual universe.
