How are you shaping your journey through life? What is your next step, and what role, if any, do shame and trauma play in this? These and other questions are explored by Adelheid Roosen and Leendert Vooijce in the project 'Through the Eyes of Another', a challenge they took up with 22 Breda residents.

According to philosopher Emmanuel Levinas, you develop your identity in the eyes of the other. With this in mind, Adelheid Roosen, Leendert Vooijce and the 22 participants from Breda set about asking each other open-hearted, forthright questions. What do you need from another person to dare to shape questions, to truly feel and understand the vulnerable themes in your life?

Adelheid Roosen and Leendert Vooijce will present the outcome of these conversations in language, photography and video, and as an installation at the festival. In this way, the artists hope to inspire visitors and make them think about the meaning of a genuine encounter.
